Chicago Police Department Upgrades to New TASER X2

Numerous Agencies Purchase TASER's Newest Products & Services

SCOTTSDALE, AZ -- January 18, 2012 -- TASER International, Inc. (NASDAQ: TASR), a global provider of safety technologies that protect life, prevent conflict, and resolve disputes, today announced that it received several significant orders for the TASER^® X26^™, TASER^® X2^® electronic control device (ECD) and TASER cartridges in the fourth quarter 2011 and in the first quarter of 2012.

The following six significant orders were received and shipped in the fourth quarter of 2011:

--  The Chicago Police Department (IL) ordered 680 X2s with extended warranties; 4,900 TASER^® cartridges; and related accessories.
--  The Pennsylvania State Police (PA) ordered 1,308 X26s with extended warranties; 10,464 TASER^® cartridges; and related accessories.
--  An unnamed major U.S. city customer ordered 250 X2s with extended warranties; 1,750 TASER^® cartridges; and related accessories.
--  The Lee County Sheriff's Department (FL) ordered 170 X2s; 500 TASER^® cartridges; and related accessories.
--  The Sunrise Police Department (FL) ordered 165 X2s with extended warranties; 1,032 TASER^® cartridges; and related accessories.
--  The Cary Police Department (NC) ordered 155 X2s with extended warranties; 930 TASER^® cartridges; and related accessories.

The company received additional orders in the fourth quarter of 2011 from international customers for 65,000 TASER cartridges. The revenue associated with these orders will be recognized in the first quarter of 2012.

The following orders were received in the first quarter 2012 and are also anticipated to ship in first quarter of 2012:

--  Waterbury Police Department (CT) ordered 125 X2s with extended warranties; 750 TASER^® cartridges and related accessories.
--  Toledo Police Department (OH) ordered 60 X2s with extended warranties; 360 TASER^® cartridges and related accessories.

TASER also announced that it received and shipped six previously unannounced orders for its innovative evidence capture and management platform in the fourth quarter 2011. The following agencies ordered the TASER AXON^™ on-officer camera system and EVIDENCE.com^™ storage and management service:

--  Danville Police Department (VA)
--  Manassas Park Police Department (VA)
--  Sibley Police Department (LA)
--  Mountain View Police Department (CA)
--  Rialto Police Department (CA)
--  Rantoul Police Department (IL)

With the exception of the Danville and Rantoul police department orders, the orders above were multiple deliverable in nature; hence the revenue associated with these orders will be recognized in the first quarter of 2012 when all the deliverables are met.
